Graduate Studies NLPU 500

The mission of NLP University has always been to provide the most comprehensive NLP education possible. The NLPU graduate studies program is a new and exciting opportunity for graduates of the NLP University 400 series Trainer and Consultancy certification programs. Its purpose is to provide the structure, support and context for advanced NLP students to deepen their knowledge and experience of NLP and NLP training, at all levels.

In response to many requests from NLPU graduates, we have decided to establish a new program that allows NLP trainers to learn how a successful NLP training is structured, managed and presented. Participants of the Graduate studies program will attend and observe one of NLP University's Practitioner or Master Practitioner modules as a member of a special advanced study group. Study group members are not 'assitants' or 'resource people' to the course. Rather, their purpose is to make an intellectual and pragmatic analysis of the course content and structure, and the influence of various styles of training. In addition to the manual for the program they are attending, graduate students will have their own course materials, and be given specific goals and assignements.

The Graduate Studies course will encourage self-managed and self-motivated learning. While direction and supervision will be provided, much of the learning of the graduate students will come from their own self-organized discussions and activities.

Similar to the original study groups (out of which NLP developed), NLPU graduate studies participants will have the opportunity to collaborate, integrate and creatively discuss NLP models, patterns and developments with commited peers. In the tradition of the Academy of Behavioral Technology and the NLP Community Leadership Project, NLP University is continually seeking ways to bring advanced groups of NLP practitioners together to continue to evolve the field of NLP.

Some benefits of the NLP University Graduate Studies program include:

The emphasis of the Graduate Studies program is on the structure and 'epistemology' underlying the course content and organization. The essence of NLP and NLP training is more than the particular group of techniques and distinctions taught in a seminar. At its core, NLP is an 'epistemology' – an integrated system of knowledge – that continues to generate new techniques and models. As the field of NLP continues to change along with the world around us, it is important for committed NLP professionals to continually update their knowledge of NLP models and techniques, and how to teach them. Thus, the Graduate Studies program is for people who desire to be seminar developers in addition to teachers, presenters and practitioners.
