Management Mindset for a New Millenium

A mindset consist of a set of coherent beliefs. A belief is a generalisation about how the world functions, about others in the world, about the identity, the possibilities and barries, which excludes other interrpetations and conclusions.

For a manager we conceive 3 basic tasks: connecting the employees of the organisations through a mission to the environment, connecting the employees to the organisation ans connecting the employees to their taks.

Axioma:
Our basic assumption (axioma) is that you accept yourself exactly as you are and allow other to be themselves without any conditions. In that way you will access the greatest possible energy-, grow-, and learningpotentional in yourself and others. Every human being has the choice to grow by free will.

The essence of leadership on the basis of this axiom is that as a manager you take care that your employees develop their capablilties by own free will on a place which is in accordance with their choices at that moment.

Effective leadership develops from from inside out: people that really accept and love themselves can enlarge the trust of others in their capabilities without getting the feeling that they are "giving away" something wich belongs to them.

The recognition of the human uniqueness and individuality of employees within organisations is very fundamental in this approach. To be able to offer this regocnition as a manager we offer you the choice to work out of the following principles:

  1. Every individual acts out of his/her model of reality
The map is not the territory. We only know the reality by our own model of how the world functions. This model forms itself out of our own experiences. It is possible that the individual seems inconsequent and unlogical to others because the have their own (different) model of reality.

  2. Your model of the world is your own mirror
Everything that we see and feel is a reflection of the state of our own consciousness which we project into the world. This reflection allows us to become aware of the beliefs and judgements we have. The insight in our our feelings, attitudes and ideas which comes from this reflection gives us the choice to reclaim the power we have vested in our beliefs.

  3. In our model of the world we freeze our reality through our beliefs.
Our bodies are the best feedbackmechanisms to tell us exactly how alligned our beliefs are with what we really want. The more we are willing to feel our feelings, the more we are able to make a connected with the power vested in them. In thinking alone we don"t have all the knowledge nor the overview of all our choices. Only by concious conncection of feeling and thinking all choices can be known.

  4. The meaning of communication is the effect it has
Situations, events and things have no meaning of itself. Individuals give meaning to it and thereby reality. These meanings are mirroring the background and experiences of the individual. Individuals give meaning to the messages they receive within in their model of reality apart from the intention of the messenger. The thruth has thousand faces.

  5. What you believe is what you get (wybiwyg)
The belief of an individual in his/her own reality and goals is a necessary condition for the realisation of that reality and these goals: what you believe is what you get. In order to keep growing an indivdual has to believe himself, apart from the judgement others have about them.

  6. You are responsible for how you deal with what happens to you
You determine yourself how you deal with everything what happens in your life. Your state of being is not the result of the circumstances. Who experiences him/herself as the effect of his cicumstances will use a lot of his nergy to defend himself instead of developping himself. An individual who is willing to think about his own role and see himself as cause will experience freedom and grow futher and develop his capabilities.

  7. Doing what you like gives you the most energy
Each of us has one or more talents we love to express. When we are fully and freely expressing who we really are, we feel joyfull and supported. As soon as we notice discomfort in our bodies with anaything we do it is omportant to first accept our feeling, exactly as they are. Peacefully starting an activity frees the energy necessary to complete it.

  8. Learning only happens out of free will
Nobody can force an other individual to learn something. The individual is free to choose his own experience concerning his goals, interest and capabilities. If there is no willingness to learn from a situation the same kind of situations will keep occuring till the individual has the willingness to listen to the message which in in there for him. The will to develop his capabilities can be seen in the active behavior of the individual. A strike to grow show itself in passive behavior.

  9. A leader directs by taking care of the connection between individual and organisational goals
Directing is the capability to support another individual in his proces of growth by offering him choices. If the choices of the other leads him into a mismatch with the environment, than you support this choice by realising antother environment, which is alligened with his actual choices.

  10. Means and ends are identical
Means and ends are the same. The action and the outcome are one. You get this at what your energy is focussed on. What you do on the road determines what you get at the destination. As a leader you have to walk you talk. Who wants to get trust will have to give it first.
