Communications
Our vision is that in the year 2017 NLP has become mainstream, and an accepted part of necessary expertise in all areas of learning.
Our mission is to use the web to share ideas for bringing NLP to diverse contexts worldwide.
We want to do this because we value NLP's ability to make people's lives easier and richer, and we value the contributions of all of our colleagues to this end.
To accomplish our vision and mission, we will use our capabilities including the ecosystem of NLP publications, web sites, institutes, and personal communication.
Our plan is to use the conference web site and the energy and skills of conference attendees to create a continuous sharing of ideas and resources. Some initial ideas for this are listed below:
- Encourage NLP institutes to teach practitioner students to explain NLP to the general public, and to share ideas on the web about how to do this most effectively.
- Create a database of outreach modules that are already in use to bring NLP to specific contexts such as teaching the spelling strategy to teachers.
- Encourage intentional communities of NLP users in various professions such
as law, business, and education.
- Encourage these communities to bring NLP to their respective professional
organizations.
- Master Practitioners would be encouraged to research and model the profiles
and values of medical and other institutes, and then share that information with the NLP community to increase credibility.
- Obtain funding for particular projects from financial foundations to fund database coordinators, and for fund-raisers.
- Ad
vertise in Anchor Point, NLP World, Rapport and other relevant publications for volunteers to promote this work.
- Cr
eate events such as International Spelling Strategy Day or Phobia Day, leading to an Internationsl NLP Day.
