Our vision is to contribute to the attainment of global/universal harmony. In relation to that vision we are the mirror reflecting the light in darkness, the rainbow bridge, the missing link, the catalyst & pathfiders for acceptance of & respect for differences, honoring each way while being enriched by the diversity. Our mission is to create a model for cultural literacy containing the code for the systemic structures of cultural maps to facilitate the process of effective communication among peoples of different cultures, religions, creeds, races & colors. We want to do this because we value the richness inherent in cultural diversity and assert the right of each culture to preserve its own wisdom and to thrive with integrity. We believe that it has become urgent to find a way for all humanity to live in peace and friendship. To accomplish our vision and mission we will use our capabilities to detect & model diverse cultural patterns, identify the cues that signal cultural differences & model the strategies of trans-culturally literate individuals. Our plan is to begin by gathering information on the commonalities & differences across logical levels of cultures. This plan will be implemented in the context of the NLP leadership project and in collaboration with the larger NLP community.
